Defense Link is the official web site for the Department of Defense and the starting point for finding U.S. military information online.

Cato Journal is a publication of the Cato Institute Founded in 1977, is nonpartisan public policy research foundation headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Institute is named for Cato's Letters, libertarian pamphlets that helped lay the philosophical foundation for the American Revolution.

Center for Defense Information is an independent military research organization.

Center for Security Policy exists as a non-profit, non-partisan organization to stimulate and inform the national and international debate about all aspects of security policy, notably those policies bearing on the foreign, defense, economic, financial and technology interests of the United States.

Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is dedicated to providing world leaders with strategic insights on—and policy solutions to—current and emerging global issues. The CSIS publishes the The Washington Quarterly is a journal of international affairs.

CIA World Factbook is just that, facts about the world through the eyes of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Council on Foreign Relations.

Command and Control Research Program focuses on improving both the state of the art and the state of the practice of command and control and enhancing DoD's understanding of the national security implications of the Information Age.

Critical Review was founded in 1986 by Jeffrey Friedman, at the time a libertarian graduate student who was having grave doubts about his political creed. Unhappy with the isolation of libertarian thought from mainstream scholarship, he envisioned a journal that would bring the most intense criticism to bear on libertarian and free-market ideas in order to see which of these ideas, if any, would withstand scrutiny and contribute to our understanding of the world.
